Syria’s Holocaust

Back in December 2016 an Arab Israeli news presenter, Lucy Aharish, the first Arab TV presenter to be on a main TV channel, gave a searing and scathing report to camera. Known for her shocking and truthful statements and views, this one is absolutely pertinent to return and remind ourselves that what went on then, is today and from way back in 2014 being played out in Ukraine, by the same perpetrators.

Sometimes it is so easy to block stuff happening in another part of the world and see no connection to our little lives we run. Yet truth be told every single thing happening in the world does have a relation to us individually. We may be told that this culture or that belief system is not us, yet we are all connected, most times utterly unaware we are.

So with that in mind and knowing or even not knowing the genocide that has been taking place in Ukraine for over 8 years, ask yourself – Is this really Russia Bad, West/NATO good? Of course not, binary thinking is totally blinding and as far from the truth as you could get.

Right now, in Halab (Aleppo), Syria, just an eight-hour drive from Tel Aviv, a genocide is taking place”….

Her honest and truthful diatribe, in English is now more than ever so important for people to recognise what is going on and has been for decades, if not centuries. Braodcast in December 2016, it becomes a timeless reminder

As bombs continue to fall on Aleppo, Syria’s ravaged metropolis, Israeli newscaster Lucy Aharish switched from Hebrew to English during an evening broadcast of her show on Channel 2 television to direct a damning message at viewers around the world.

Tempus Fugit

Time is the great moderator of human hubris

When we think we have all the time in the world, we act accordingly. When we think we have not got time or our time is limited to our expectations of what might transpire, we kid ourselves. Then the other thought – “I must keep my comment short as people have not got time to read any decent length thing!”

This article therefore comes with a warning: It may exceed the length that you are prepared to gift time to read fully and digest.

Is it no wonder we find so many, so ill-informed, so parched of the waters of knowledge and vital information, because they refused to give themselves the gift of spending their time becoming more knowledgeable, being more greatly entertained. A place where gifting ourselves a space for and unto ourself, where the indoctrination we never have enough time, implants itself once again on the clock defining the period and dash between the date of our birth and the date we depart this mortal coil.

It is sad, is it not that when we excuse ourselves so much on the false testimony that time is precious, short, lacking, non existant or whatever other excuse we roll out, what we fail to realise is that time is not our master, but our servant.

When we allow ourselves to be ruled by time we miss hugely what this life is gifted to us for. As long as we refuse to take responsibility for each and everything we are presented with, that includes defining what time be allotted to what space in our life, we reject the very essence of our time here.

Too philosophical for you? Well then explain why the numerous times you have said “Sorry, haven’t got time for that!” is in most cases a patent lie to yourself. We are so eager to wanting to take control of ourselves, we kid ourselves big time. Of course there are moments when to spend time outside of a plan might be inconvenient, yet how many times do we convince ourselves we have not got time to hold moments longer someone who loves us, to diverge from our itinerary to smile at the homeless person crouched in chill station along our way. How many times have we told another – “Have to rush sorry” – in order to avoid a sticky moment meeting another?

Today is so easy to not have time for others as we glibly shoot off an up to 280 character tweet, here in the West and poverty of all poverties, we so often contain our whole communications online to a similar character count. Many assume others cannot cope with or have the capacity to hold their attention to anything longer. We all know what assume does – makes an ass out of u and me

Becoming separate, making ourselves exist in a virtual world where real flesh and touch is a memory of yesteryear merely impoverishes us even further. To the generations that have never had the experience of life as we elders knew it, this from the human context is not only a travesty but a loss of humanity.

Of course the aim as many of us know is for the powers that think they control, to reach a point where human life becomes a mere slave to an authority that wishes to control us and any who are superfluous to that desire are replaced by AI. We are already extinct if we are to believe we can be extinguished in favour of robots and artificial intelligence. In that thought we destroy our soul.

So going on the principle of what you think and believe creates your reality, and kid yourself not, we humans are the most endowed creators on this plane, then telling ourselves we have no time merely hastens the end.

These thought processes are so important to rid ourselves of, to stop for a moment and consider what really is important – a moment of shallow, superficial pleasure or a moment where we consider another/others
